We know for many people it is not always possible to work effectively from home. Many don’t have the facilities, others have too many distractions to be productive and some just need the separation between work and home for their own wellbeing.
At StonesThrow we have adapted our space to make it as safe as possible for our members in line with government guidance. We’re pleased to have a large enough space to make it easy for our members to physically distance whenever they are in the space. Here we explain these measures and we also explain what we ask of those working in our space.
If any members or visitors develop symptoms of Covid-19 they should not come into the office and should remain at home. If anyone using the space or any of their household develops symptoms or test positive for Covid-19, we ask that they let us know as soon as possible so that we can inform all members and visitors.
Our desks always gave plenty of space but we have now reduced the number of desks available and have spaced them out to ensure everyone can sit at a safe distance. We have also arranged our desks in a way that ensures no one is facing each other. We have signage up to remind those working in the space of the measures asked of them.
We ask that only one person uses the kitchen at a time. We’ve also considered those high touch items and have removed those that we can from the space. For example, we have introduced paper towels rather handtowels and have individual milk pots rather than shared milk. We know both are not the best environmental options and we are always on the look out for ways to improve this. We hope in the not-too-distant future we can revert to more eco-friendly options. Tea and coffee remain available but everyone makes their own to avoid those socially awkward dilemmas.
We have increased the cleaning of the space and paid particular attention to heavy-use surfaces such as door handles, worktops and desks. We have made anti-bacterial wipes available and ask our members to wipe down their desks at the end of each day. We ask everyone coming into the space to wash their hands and also have hand sanitiser located around the space.
We ask that any visitors to the space are booked in beforehand to ensure government guidelines can be maintained. We also ask that our members inform us in advance of any visitors and that they only bring one visitor at a time with meetings being held in the dedicated meeting spaces.
We have several meeting spaces available but we limit the number of people who can book into those rooms to ensure social distancing can be maintained. We also provide hand-sanitiser and antibacterial wipes in those meeting rooms.
Masks are not required when entering or working within the space but if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask please feel free to do so.
We believe it is up to all of us as individuals to assess the risk to ourselves, our families and the people we meet so we ask you to do the same. Please don’t hesitate to talk to us about any concerns you may have. We would be happy to talk you through the measures we have outlined here.
We will continue to review our measures and update them as necessary in accordance with the government advice. For more information on government guidelines you can find the latest information here: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
